We spent all day on the barge, setting up the video board and rigging, making sure the horse looped properly and faced the correct direction. I climbed up and down scaffolds, hiding straps and beams.
We had it. We were ready.
Then, moments from departure: a loud CRACK—a bright flash near the bow. A Northern Spark, we joked… but the video processor was fried. Nightmare was, sadly, not to be.
Now that I have the use of a decent camera again, I went out and tried to capture any last bit of remaining color left in this fall. There wasn’t much. What started out as a pleasant enough day quickly became cloudy and blustery.
